Finbarr O'Reilly, fotograaf voor het Britse persagentschap Reuters, heeft tijdens zijn rondreis in Congo de inwoners op de gevoelige plaat vastgelegd. Velen dragen de sporen van de gevechten in het oosten van het land. Maar sommige foto's tonen ook een ander Congo, een land dat ondanks alles toch nog hoop heeft.

De Amerikaanse nieuwssite Boston.com brengt 38 foto's in zijn rubriek The Big Picture.

Stephen King vraagt het weekblad Time om Britney Spears of Lindsay Lohan tot Persoon van het jaar te bombarderen. Wat hebben ze dit jaar verwezenlijkt, vraag je je misschien af.
